For almost fifty years, the National Championship Air Races, the fastest, most prestigious air races in the world, have been held each September in front of thousands of spectators in Reno, Nevada. In this 5-day event, pilots compete in various categories in courses marked out on the ground by pylons. To win at Reno, it's simple: Fly Low. Go Fast. Turn Left.

As the event's main sponsor, Breitling has created the Breitling Reno Air Races game. With its stunning graphics engine, the game throws you head first into the sensational, accurately reconstructed world of pylon racing, and lets you compete online with others from around the world. Players can get to grips with various types of aircraft, starting with the Unlimited class (stock or modified WWII fighters) and T6 class, soon to be followed by the Biplane and Jet classes (summer 2011). Players can customize their planes and learn how to fly.

BREITLING RENO AIR RACES: THE MOVIE

Mike, a young unemployed pilot, meets up with former Reno Air Races champion Captain John Anderson at an airbase out in the Nevada desert. Mike wants the former champion to help him prepare for the next race. Anderson promptly puts him to the test in one of his custom racing aircraft. Mike takes off under the watchful eye of the attractive, slightly derisive Nancy, who gives him instructions over the radio. But flying low and fast is a risky business, and Anderson is going to have to give young Mike a lesson in flying...

CAPT. JOHN ANDERSON

  • Personality: Professional, experienced, shrewd and self-disciplined.
  • Profession: Captain of the US Air Force now in early retirement, commander of the demilitarized air base at Little Creek, Nevada.
  • Pilot: Having clocked up over 10,000 aircraft hours, John Anderson has flown anything and everything with wings. They say he could get an iron to take off.
  • Reno: A former winner, his name is engraved on the Unlimited class trophy.
  • Aircraft: No Guts No Glory, North American Mustang P51

MIKE

  • Personality: Reckless, immature, arrogant, charmer.
  • Pilot: The son and grandson of pilots, Mike has got flying in his blood. He had his first crash at the age of 14, not that it put him off flying - quite the opposite...
  • Profession: Pesticide pilot for the huge farm enterprises in the Midwest.
  • Aircraft: Knotty Girl, North American Mustang P51

NANCY

  • Personality: Strong-minded, professional, demanding and enthusiastic.
  • Pilot: A licensed pilot, Nancy is definitely one with a need for speed.
  • Profession: A US Air Force Sergeant, she is in charge of operations and assists Anderson at Little Creek.
  • Reno: Nancy lives for the Reno Races championship. Each year, she is one of the official race referees.
  • Aircraft: Knotty Girl aircraft mechanic, her talents are always highly sought after on the tarmac at Reno…
